People of the Asia Piano Company - who are we?

Leonard Soh Eng Kiat is a Master Piano Technician and Piano Consultant who formerly served with Yamaha where he tuned and serviced nearly 5 pianos a day for over 20 years! Having trained at the Yamaha Piano production factory under the watchful eye of master piano artisans in Hamamatsu, Japan, he has since had lots of experience in tuning and servicing various kinds of pianos, ranging from the smallest of spinets (hard to service because of it's "hidden" piano action) to the mammoth concert grands of today.

Tuning and servicing a piano isn't just a laborious layman job, but an elevated artform and an exacting science that has to come into perfect balance, and not to mention lots of patience! Leonard realises this and treats every piano he services with loving care, going towards what the customer wants, and this is what makes him stand out from the crowd of piano tuners. Being a strong headed person, he was also responsible for the miniscule revolution in the Yamaha Technical Service Centre quite a while ago, where he managed to persuade the manager there to revise the payment scheme towards piano technicians serving with the Service Centre, thereby enabling Piano Technicians to earn nearly 5 times their regular monthly income of what was previously around $850 for newbies. Where most business minded piano companies in Singapore refuse you when there is a piano in need of some attention, be it major or minor, Leonard is your man, and he is one of the few piano technicians in this region that will swiftly get the job done to the highest of standards. Below are his interviews published in the papers before. (Click on them for larger view.)
